Saw this today - Disney Autonomous Systems Lab has created a wall-climbing robot. Made of lightweight Carbon Fibre and 3D printed parts.

Friction drives would also get the wheel speeds all the right ratio, as it transfers the surface speed of the wheel, not the angular velocity of the axle.

Hey Nick, you could try "diluting" the lead free stuff with regular old 60/40 solder. The mixture is very likely to be a lower melting point than the 0% Pb.

The usual caveats apply - don't lick it ...
