Rotwang Robotics ~Ants

Event report on first Melbourne Combat Robotics event.

I was lucky to be drawn against Neweyn's bot Maul for the first ever fight in the new arena at public event, My bot was a clone of Chris's Shrapnel 2. Really it was Robs bot being the only one of our 3 shrapnel's fitted with a Ti weapon bar but Rob was running late due to some wedding he was involved in, he got a best dressed award when he arrived still in his bag of fruit. Michael will have all the video up sooner or later.
My recollection is the horizontal spinners sawing away at each other with lots of shreds of printed plastic. They took time out to sweep the arena after that fight.
Maul's weapon motor suffered a hit that damaged and jammed it, I got the win.
After that it all blurred together, we had 6 bots, 3 green ants and 3 shrapnel's between Brett, Rob and Myself. 3 RR rounds and 2 rumbles and a 4 or 5 way to split the points in the RR for some of the placings.
The destructive rumble I can remember, went in with my Green ant.
Also I should add that this was a no time limit last bot moving Royal rumble.
Kept out of trouble early on, really crowded to start with, end game went on for a long time, Jole's Bucktooth must have a big battery, it just didn't stop, eventually he got a hit on my wheel that moved it in jamming it and I gave up.

The green ant took a lot of hits printed with PETG and survived and I will space the wheels so that cant slide in next time.
So lots of fights, only 2 byes, over 20 fights for the 6 bots, next step is develop our own designs, the clone troops have got us started and we have enough of a feel for the weight class now.
