I've started my first bot (no name yet, I suck at names Sad ), and I think ant-weight is the way to go. Its drive system is from a cheap R/C tank called "super funny tank" from Hobby-co. It cost 30 bucks for 2 and the other will be fitted with bigger moters and batteries for a SozBot. It's a spinner and is going to be really simple. I aim to spent less than $30 on it. Will soon add picks. Very Happy Oh, also, I forgot to add an easy-to-follow title, that's why I edited it. Laughing

Ok! Fixed the damn thing today and added some stuff. I am using mechano as it is so easy to fit together. Even the blade is mechano!

This is a close up of the wesapon motor. I want to run it on 9volts, but the reviever can only take 3-4.5v. (and it's a little small for servo-switching!)

Small question, I want to run the weapon motor at 9-12 volts. Is it possible to to use a relay, so that the small (3v) current fron the reciever activates the higher voltage weapon circuit? (After running 9v throught it for a few seconds, it heated up so much that I was lucky it didn't blow!) Embarassed

Use an adequate sized Transistor to switch from the 3v circuit and turn on the 9v side to the motor.

Do you have the part number of a suitable one? (and as I know not alot about electronics, which wire goes where?) Thanks.

Brett or Jake would know part numbers, I'm more of a guy who just looks at a wiring diagram, find a transistor in a shop and wires it up, if it goes bang, I try again Very Happy

Yeah, I'm like that, but I usually blow it up by wiring it up wrong!
