probably be hard to make true. i would say get a cheap big version of a ball castor and hack out the inside roller. that way youve got a strong purpose build item that you need.

carbatec is probably about the only place i know of where you could walk into their store and buy them over the shelf. RS is an internet store ($$$$$).

Heres an idea just get an inflatable ball use a vacume and such all the air out of it then fill it with resin. Dunno whether it would work but saves all the time of making moulds and when you want to get it out just cut off the plastic. I don't know much bout casting stuff so just tell me if it wouldn't work.

Is this the sort of thing you had in mind? I was intrigued with the Idea when I first saw the movie Thinking how best to suspend and spin the spheres.

Heres another resin ball idea. Rather
then an inflatable ball, put a
slit in a tennis ball and fill it with resin.
Just squeeze the ball a bit to open the
slit and fill him up. Once its full it will stay
in shape until it sets. Then sandpaper it
once youve cut away the furry rubber skin and ...... Question
Hmmm..... Idea
OR, if you can turn a split ball inside out,
add a little glue so its round again and
THEN fill it with resin ....
It could be a go if you can get the inside
out ball to stay round.

the idea is good strafeing would become practally impossible but you could move in diagionals easly enough.
