State of Origin Event

I reckon a state of origin event would be cool.

What does everyone else reckon

I think it's been mentioned before and it's still a good idea IMHO. The trouble is the scheduling and the venue. I will make every effort to be there if there is enough intrest.

We had no luck getting interstate competitors interested in the NSW Annhilator this year, even though it was a real success last time. You will need to pick a date that doesn't clash with other events, the school calendar and other major events to please people.

Did you have any thoughts on the competition format? From the event name, I'm assuming it will be state VS state teams and not a regular double elimination event.

I was just wondering if there would be enough interest. I would think we would need to select teams from each state.

I would like to compete interstate, but Marauder is too far below par right now.

Very Happy state of origin would be great but as nick said ,if this years annhillator is any indication of interstate battling ,waste of time at the moment ,
maybe in a few years when all the states are well established in their own agendas a state of origin type comp would be an option

If it in regards to which state started robot combat in Aus, well I would have to dissagree with you Wayde all three states did various things to comtribute at all time.

QLD had the first featherweight battle
NSW had the first competition series
VIC had the first public live event with an extensively large audience!

We all achieved various things, so I believe no state can claim the title.

I personally believed the Annihilator wasn't such a "must go" event for interstate travellers due to the fact of the idea of event consisting of games. If we travel interstate, we want to battle solid for two days! So far, only Glen, Jake, Wayde & Andrew from NSW have travelled to interstate events. Maybe a few more of you should start travelling half way across the country before you critise people who spend a lot of time saving up the money to support these events.

I hate to jump on you Chris, but a few of your post lately seem to be against us interstates.

Chris's second post seems to be where it was stated that the Sunday would be a no combat day involving hundreds of golf balls..... That's kinda where I found 1 day of combat wasn't worth $400+

Hmm not a lot of interest. But if we organised one it would have to be two days. Interstate is definately not worth it if it wasn't more than one day.

Maybe not this year but eventually you get sick of fighting the same people and interstate events will look better
