yeah i think i set up rhino in cm when i started and have just gotten to used to it to change now hehe. but hey just make it 10 times bigger and presto it should be right.

i dont like using mm actually, the robots barely fit into the gridded area if you do that.

Those renders make the design much clearer - looking good! What sort of belt are you going to use to the EV? I don't see a Vee or timing belt teeth, so it must be a flat belt, right? Confused I don't like the idea of the twisted belt so much - you need to use belts that don't transmit much power and they come off too easily under load. Everyone I can think of in the US has stopped using them.

hey glen make the grid bigger and set it as a template then just boot the template like its not hard and you get more precision (not to mention no having to type .05 for 5mm its just 5 Very Happy makes it that little bit quicker Very Happy)

edit:

i havent gotten any belts as yet and im still looking for a few pullies for the ev (maby 1:1 maby 2:1 maby 1:2 i wanna try them out to work out whats best for me Smile though im fairly sure i can scrap the 2:1 one tho Razz) and yeha looking at the ev cad i would be looseing space by having a twist belt config so im probably going to scrap it cause it would need some heavy duty tensioning to keep the belt locked on properly which is gonna be heavy on weight which i just cant afford (still wanna try and keep it under 12kg Very Happy)

yeah but then you gotta type 50 instead of 5 so it slows down either way XD

Conundrum Mk2

Also might be worth thinking about other shapes of robot to accommodate the EV if that's really what your keen on...

On this Uk featherweight i've gone for a wedge shape with wheels near to the drum as possible for turning on the drum axle, but also being able to run both sides up. This bot's not tested yet in battle but the 1.5kg drum is geared at 2:1 from the EV Warrior.

Heavy duty tensioning ? Al you need it to use the right type of deep v pullys and pull the motor back to the belt it tight .

it looks good by its not for the current mod to get the weopon in and testing in battle and such at the moment im working on hacking up my seriously underweight brick "Python" to take nikes weopon system then that way its a quick change over to get it into Nike its project Pytike mod that im workin on at the moment and yeah i know what your saying andrew (havent gotten around to making the cad though i think with the drive on it in the center it may lift up and run accross the drum causing some out of the ordanary results also the drum itsself is smaller than the ev Smile so that has to be taken into account it may get bigger after when i test weight and such but at the moment its handy so its being used Very Happy)
