nick, jake or andrew might want to comment before i, but 15mm would be strong enough.
that pressed steel housing may be a worry, it looks thin. check out what happens when spinners get into that pressed steel stuff (check out the pic of my castor in my personal album) _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

no i meant the housings may deform under the force of your own spinner.
but i think youd be right.
and if you go into the photos section, then click the 'users personal galleries' button, mine will be there. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

the bearing is only half the problem
you ave to mount the bearing
and transmit that load through your bot

Annihilation has a 22mm bearing mounted in a pressed steel mounting. which is then bolted and arildyted onto the motor. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

So do you tink my pessed steel housings will do the job?
The shaft will be 15mm round bar. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

Why are all my bearings 15mm and i mcant find 15mm steel bar only 16mm
I was told at the shop 15mm was a standard size shaft meaning its easy to find 15mm bar.

Its turning out a bit too expensive then after i got collars put on my 16mm bores on my sprockets to make em 15mm as it was too much work to screw aroung with the bearings _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

with the planned gear reduction. U do not need a 2:1. u drop speed and kinetic energy stored up in the bar. A 1:1 belt drive ratio would work much better. Still a fast spin up time and awesome speed of weopon. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

is there any way to mount a normal bearing (with no flanges) in a flat plate without special bearing blocks etc?
i just have these two 16mm bearings and would like to actually use them sometime this decade....
