However, the arena now has a bit of a lump in the middle, so I wouldn't count on it being dead flat.

I was trying to use that to my advantage in my last fight with Aaron, but to no avail.

i see. Well then this should be fun Smile So basically if wedges now shave the floor (as they should mind you) a wedge on wedge battle is a stalemate. Just a ramming battle and whoever drives the best will be able to flick the opponent up eh? I'm in. It's gonna be very interesting.

Leave room for some sort of weapon - only Aaron still thinks wedges are exciting! A fan motor costs around $10 to $15 and you can scrounge most of the other parts so it's not too expensive to upgrade.

Yes, I think only 2 of Schmack Head's videos made it into the highlights videos because there wasn't any highlights from his fights. Well nothing he caused anyway.

ok well perhaps a flipper? or maybe i'll put a blade on it after all. One minute your telling me to keep it simple and then you want me to complicate it up! oh well. i'd rather have a weapon anyway. so it'll either be a flipper or a blade it'll probably end up being eeny meeny miny mo Laughing

Smile My next robot is going to be a total "back to basics" spinner, and i'm going to make it all myself (hopefully not needing any help from Nick, Jake or other) and using off the shelf components. Not that I didn't really appreciate your help with snak masheen, but I want to see how successful such a simple spinner could be. Spinners don't have to be complex. Smile

what do you mean a back to basics spinner? Like a spinner without a gyro and whatever just a blade or what? I don't get that. But if you explain it i might do the same thing Laughing

"Back to basics" probably means the same as what Gary and I were talking about on the previous page. Cheap, salvaged parts and easy construction. Gyros would be right out Laughing I just pulled out some fan motors and a steel bar to see what shape I can make a 'basics' horizontal spinner. It's not quite as basic as Angus is thinking, but I'm only using materials on hand and keeping it cheap.
