Greetings to all Vic Bot Builders..

We have a couple of events to add to your calender and you to think about while you all wait for me to get the next RoboWars event sorted out..

We have been invited to have a display stand at the 7th annual Model Engineering Exhibition at Monash University on the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd.

This show gets around 5,000 people through it over the weekend, and being held at the engineering halls of Monash Uni, they're just the sort of people we want to let know that Robot Combat is growing in Australia, so its a great opportunity for us to show our machines to the general public and get more builders interested.

The week prior to that (Saturday the 25th of September), we will hold a builders meeting to arrange who wants to man the stand when (it runs from 9-5 saturday and 9-4 sunday), and who is going to bring robots to put on the stand.

Also, I have just received my 4-DVD set from the Metal-Munnching-Maniacs crew in the states, and theres some great fights there, so it will be a good opportunity to kick back and watch some destruction from the recent events in the US as well..

I havent decided whether to hold the builders meeting at SideTracked and make it open to all and friends, or whether to hold it at my house and limit it to builders only. Does anyone have any opinions on that ?

we'll be there for holidays on that weekend, and ill bring cobra for the ride. where staying at the apollo on flemington rd so god only knows how close/far that is... (anybody.... help )

i wont be able to attend the builders meet as we get there on the 27th i think so if that is a probable let us know, maybe you could call me and let me know the details etc.. id be pretty interested in doing something like this. getting into the public eye is of a most high priority

oh and should i repaint it or leave it looking like a battle scared chew toy

oh yes and which campus of monash is this at?

I know this may cause some disadvantages Brett, but I think the builders meeting should be at your house to kick back and watch some of those DVD's

Ok, well sounds like its at my house then.. I'll have to see if I can borrow that projector again, since my TV is about this ->.<- big which isnt much fun for everyone to watch DVD's on.

The usual deal applies for visits to my house. Actual Builders and relevant friends only please, no general public.. its not an open house.

Anyone wanting to come who doesnt know where I am already, PM for the address.

I'd also like to discuss and determine who is going to be available to (and wants to) exhibit their bot at the hobby show, and work out a schedule of when who can man the stand, since its 9-5 sat and 9-4 sunday, so its a lot to ask of just 1 or 2 people. hopefully we can get a bit of a roster put together, and please let us know what you would like to display so we can see how it will fit into the space we have been allotted.

** Builders Meeting and Organisation day for the Engineers Show **

The usual builders meeting stuff.. BYO Bots, Show'n'Tell Bits and Bobs (whatever they might be). We will figuring out who wants to display what and when on our stand at the Model Engineering and Hobby show the *next* weekend (October 2 & 3)- This show gets over 5,000 people through it over the weekend, so get your stuff together and make it look pretty (or serious anyway).

Dont bring heaps of non-builder friends along please since its at my house, save that for one of the SideTracked based builders meets coming up soon.

Arrive anytime after 10am, Nibblies & Drinks provided, if you want more than a sausage roll/pie and some biccies, then BYO food/drink.
I've got the Metal Munching Maniacs DVD's for people to watch too

JUST IN TIME I GOT MY ROBOTWARS BOX DVD SET TODAY SO I WILL BRING IT TO THE MEETING

BTW if any one whos comeing wants a copy bring $5 for each dvd they will have no covers as i have run out of ink but they will be in a cd case and arent those dodjy market copys as my dvd program dose 100% clear copys

There is the house robots dvd hypnodisc dvd razor dvd and chaos dvd all the best of battles and stuff like the building of the bot
