Bolting the pack to the frame worked OK in Jolt - best thing I did for it in fact! THisker plastic does make the pack stronger but after around 15mm, its a case of diminishing returns. The next best thing would be to add more bolts or use metal plates like Jake.

also you could use a torsion or wave spring between the coper bus bars and the plastic its basicly a thin plate of spring steel bent into a wave shape so when its pressed the ~~~~~~~~ shape spreads out holding tension on the bus bar it would only need to be very thing spring steel

Thanks to Jason, some of the parts should be knocked up on the 5-axis in the next few weeks. Now if only I would remember to post that slab of aluminium off Once these parts are made, I can finish a few other bits, try the prototype out and see how well it works (If it works), then with the weapon built, it's a case of building the rest of the robot around the weapon (I'm trying out the Team Razer theory).

I've also decided to drop the Team Delta Dewalt Kits due to weight (Might sell them or put then in another design I'm keen to play with) and I'll be substituting them with modified AndrewMOD's and 14.4v Dewalts instead... So it won't be Cobra speed any more, but it won't be Badger speed either

With 1.7Kw of potential power behind the weapon, it should have a bit of punch behind it. Much better then the original Dewalt motor I was going to use

I've gotta call up Glenfords about my 14.4v Dewalt motors that I ordered for the drive. They never returned my last call Also gotta chase up Andrew about building some "AndrewMOD Ultimates" to handle the Dewalt motors.

Really been slack with this bot lately, been too busy playing with my Silvia and gokarting Time to get into the swing of it again, robowars isn't too far away

How much were the 14.4 dewalts ? and are they much bigger and heavier than the hti's im useing in Offset?

The dream of getting this bot to RoboWars for it's debut has slipped off the chart now, so I'm accelerating a back burner project now. Hope to have it ready for a debug session at the NSW 2 day event and ready to dominate RoboWars

I'll start a thread for the backburner bot when I come up with a name for it.

Time to accelerate this little project again. Going to split the project into two phases in hope of achieving something quicker.

Phase A - The one I'm working on now is to get the bot built, and driving around, ready for Battleshed in the middle of the year. The weapon will be built the cheap and easy way for now, much less power, but will still be fun.

Phase B - Spend the money and get the weapon built properly, then transplant it into Phase A when ready, or build from scratch and have both versions.

Ordering a 250watt gear motor this week, checking out some available parts to bolt onto it at the moment
