If this becomes an international thing with 100+ packs, some organisation is needed!!! If no one else wants to, i'm happy to compile a word document with everyones details and pack amounts, so we can workout how much the lot will cost and who's paid. If not, it gets confusing!
I'm being realistic, $50 seems like a price we may not be able to reach, that's $5 per cell.

Are these the A123 cell people? They seem better than pretty much any other lithium nano phosphate type cell that I have seen. As far as I'm aware the A123 company only sells to dewalt. EV people have tried to buy ~$20k worth of batteries before with no joy.

well been in contact with dewalt aus and the distributors and word is the packs are $175 wholesale. if you want a "special" price we need to buy a few million dollars worth of batteries so unless everyone has a spare million..

i think we will need to settle for the $80 a pack or so. the only way he could get this price is if he purchases them by the million himself and sells them.

If the local wholesale price is $175, how do the small Ebay sellers regularly sell at $100 US? The can't be buying a million dollars worth! I wonder if we could find who the ebay guys buy off and cut out the middleman?

$8 per call is still a good discount over the average $10 per cell for a single ebay pack and $15 per cell from A123 and their resellers.

I don't know how we can find that distributor and even if we could, I don't think it would even be viable for them to send an amount over here when they know full well they can get more for them there.

Thats the Australian price Nick(of coarse), I found all this out 15 months ago and It doesn't look like its changed. The only place with a descent price is from the USA. This is another fine example of overpriced products here in Australia, compared to the United States.

Stay positive! We would probably work with a us bot builder who would be buying just the same as an ebay shop - the only difference is that our guy wouldn't be expecting to make $10 to $20 per pack and wouldn't be ripping us off on freight.

Perhaps the Ebay shops buy buy thousands of packs per order to get the good prices, but I doubt it. Where did the $80 USD price come from - an ebay seller or somewhere else?

Your first job would be to get them to send you a batch to distribute Nick, I can't find servo anywhere!
It would indeed be interesting, people get such varied results from them, not to mention all the different construction and charging methods available, sounds like a plan!
