Very Happy Thanks for all the support guys, it was an awesome two days, and a slightly unexpected outcome! With such an untested robot, I had no idea how it would work, and now have some faith in these new fangled A123's. Laughing
Also congrats to Gary for once again putting out a good show with the majority of top ranking bots coming from his construction skills. Smile
Hope I didn't break bender too bad, I was trying to play nice. Wink
Oh, and thanks to Brett as well as the sidetracked guys for putting on a very efficient event.

i love that last pic for some reason even though a red wheel is just plastic.
hope the rest of rotwang's fleet survived better.
i woudnt want to have seen bender if angus had had a few months to fine tune his little beast.

Finally home in warm QLD and rested up with some sleep Razz

Massive thanks to Brett and Sidetracked for putting on another good weekend! Itching to go back again! Big thanks to Andrew for helping me rush build Schmackhed in the last 4 days before the event, couldn't have made it with out your help, those 20 hour days really got me there Razz

Was great to meet a bunch of new builders, Trav, Fred, Sid, Sean & Kirst, will be great to catch y'all again sometime. Big thanks to Fred for being an awesome taxi driver over the weekend Razz There is more people to thank, but I'm currently a little squishy after a 4 night bender spree at the pubs... Confused

I was happy with schmackhed's performance, The new dewalt motor uncrimping the front face plate from the can was totally un expected, but very easily fixed with the welder. The gearbox seperating from the motor in the rumble is easily fixable too, just need to machine a part or two up. Was happy with it when it was running, i managed to run it for 15mins of full throttle between break downs without anything smoking or exploding, which is a record for the schmack. Being massively underweight, I'm gonna look at beefing it all up now, thinking 4WD with 4 motors now Cool

Congrats to Anguz, the cadbury, who was drunkenly knocking random crap over in the pub after 1 cider, and pwnage to Glen who was stupid enough to drink a Cement Mixer at the Irish bar at the airport and only lasting 30 seconds before ejecting it into the bathroom Laughing

Bring on Battleshed!

EDIT: w00t. Was fastest at the gokarts, beside Mark from Sidetracked who cheated Razz Better luck next time Glen, 0.10 behind, but still too slow Wink

Hey all!

I've just Facebook'd my photos from Robowars 08, and you can see them here:

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=25302&l=d39fe&id=642953241

Congrats to Angus again.

bnow, in regards to my videos: I'm working on them, but it'll take a while. I've got the vasty majority of the fights, which I'll eventually upload to YouTube for all to see, only I'm a bit busy so it won't be for a few more weeks yet.

Thanks to all for a very succesful weekend. A fantastic crowd over both days saw some high quality Bots in action. Great to see a few new faces and Bots, with no doubt bigger and better things to come. We pulled the arena down today and it was almost sad to see it put away fro a few months again. Sidetracked has plans for its own bot with the help of Gary and Brett - watch-out in the near future for 'S'FEAR'

Congrats to Rapture and his minders - Robowars National Champ for 2008

Congrats to Inspector General and his minder - now 3 times winner of 'Wacky Races'

And - Congrats to ME for winning the Kart race - and I did not cheat - HONEST Smile

Catch you all again real soon.

Mark

I usually get together with Brett and he works out the best date to suit most builders.

The next meet will be Round 1 of the Victorian Builders Championship. The results of this round will be added to round 2 to determine the Robowars Victorian State Champion in August / September

S'FEAR will be based on a similar idea as Reboot. But if I tell you the rest - I would have to kill you.

Cheers
