Oatley Electronics Jumbo Servo Kit

Hello there!
Wow it has been a while since I have posted on here, the robot side of things sorta fell in a hole with year 11/12, oh well, flying model planes now! Very Happy Sill checking out all the great robot builds tho:P

But anyway, I'm currently trying to build a big scale RC truck for a school project and I have just got a jumbo servo kit for the steering:)
I'm having serious trouble trying to assemble it because the instructions supplied with the kit are hard to work out! Mad

So would anyone have a decent size pic of an assembled unit? I have soldered on the obvious parts like the main chip, caps, and big resistors.

Alot of you said that the fets had a tendency to explode so I am making a cooler for the fets with a big heatskink, peliter and 2 fans. Hopefully that will stop them from blowing up, if not I'll get some better fets. Wink

Thanks
Simon

peltier probably isnt a good idea.
it's going to have difficulty pumping enough heat when things are hot and when its not your going to get condensation.

We tried those controllers years ago, exploded both of them... Razz The trim on them goes crazy with any heat increase, just breathing on them makes them start creeping Rolling Eyes

Why not the Hitec BS805 BB? 19.3kg/cm torque @4.8V, and with a Y harnas it can run up to 7.2V.
It's almost a standard 1/4th scale servo.

yeah, thats what I'm planning on using! Very Happy

I can mix it in my radio for one to run the opposite way so while ones going forward the other one will be going back
And that servo tere isn't a bad price
Very Happy Shocked
