Wanted Radio System

hi this will be my first robot build and i need a decent 2nd hand radio system or just the transmitter.
Probably want about 6 channels and in decent condition.
a matching reciever would be great as well.
Don't have a whole lot of money so cheaper is best. Wink

Pick up a Spektrum DX6. Cheapest, reliable option you can find. At least 75% of the bot building population are using these...

Otherwise, you might be able to get a lucky bargain out of Spockie Tech Here: http://robowars.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1065

DX6s are no longer in production and have been replaced by the DX6i. Apparently lots of international builders are having a lot of problems with these newer models. I would hold off buying one till the bugs are sorted.

So does that mean you are using the AR6200 receiver? The one that doesn't failsafe correctly? That is the one supplied with the DX6i. The BR6000 was the receiver redesigned for use in robots and it is not being sold with the DX6i. The issues with the DX6i is that it will not bind with the BR6000 or will do intermittently.

I presume you've seen spockie's radio on offer on the "For Sale/Wanted" page?

Since changing to these radios a few years back, we have had *no* trouble with interference at all.. They work perfectly 100% of the time. 7 Completely Programmable channels to play with make these radios useable for anything. I have flown Helicopters, Planes, Robots and so on. The programming options are far more comprehensive (read complicated in some cases) than a DX6 Spektrum, but they are much easier to operate with the dial-key programming - because these radios can do much more (if you need them to). 75mhz crystals, so you wont conflict with anyone else. If you want a radio that will last you years and multiple RC hobbies, this is it. (I'm keeping 1 myself, and just selling the 1 extra I have). - Does NOT come with AC-Charging Adapter (because they are American radios, the adapaters were 110v) - you are better off charging them with a Triton or other computer charger anyway, better for the pack - thats what I did.

Also could you try to keep relevant posts in one topic?
