Removing Chucks from Drills. A guide

Ok, after trying to remove the chuck off 5 XU1s and having trouble with all of them, i think its time someone tells me the easiest way of removing it.

I have taken out the screw and gave the chack a good wiggle and pull and twist, and everyhing else possible but it just wont come off. The other 4 have come off after a LOT of work, but this ones just stubborn.
I plan on using them a bot more in the future so i really need to know this information.

ooohh FYI: hacksaws and angle grinders are NOT, i repeat NOT good ways of trying to remove it...incase you didnt know Smile

okay first have you got the screw out from inside the chuck? if yes then..

put an allen key into the chuck (so the long part is sticking out sideways), then twist the motor wires together (this will make the motor harder to turn) and then give the allen key a big whack with a hammer and this will break it free.

make sure your hitting it the right way as well Razz there was a youtube vid somewhere on how to do it but i cant find it atm Mad
