Hey all,
In making up a crappy balance jig for the e-station i blew channel one in the balance connector (row of surface mount 22 ohm resistors all scorched).
It is an easy fix as in put on the resistors, connect where needed and hence done
If it is too expensive to find the resistors as jaycar didnt sell em and if getting em shipped is fiddly what success have people had with external balance units.
I know Glen was supplied one with his charger also Jake and Russell have used them i believe.
They just connect to balance port and connect between charger output and battery right?
What sort/model do peoples reccomend?
Thanks for any help. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

I'd try not to use an external one given the choice.
I will be doing a digikey order soon so you might be able to tack some on.
wouldn't rhino have rolls and rolls of them? _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

I'd be more interested in tracking down why you've blown a channel on the balancer. No good fixing it if you've got a short somewhere that will just blow it again. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

incase you want to use said joints they are available in aus from

@aaron- Its defo the balancing jig i made up, ask glen, he saw it and almost fainted.
The balancing jig was a number of various endcaps from other solderless packs with wires going in there and balancing leads coming off so in theory you slap the loose cells in em and balance em/charge it before assembling but it didnt work out in the end. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics
