Will Trent build an Ant weight
I have no time or money for this but I'm interested, you guys look like your having fun with them and there pretty affordable.
I'm sketching a pneumatic tosser. First thing to make would be the solenoid valve. I haven't made a solenoid valve before but I have looked @ many.
I did I quick bit of math and I'll be looking @ a orifice of 1.5mm. That should be good for 2+ metre toss.
The rest of the design seems straight forward but the valve, and it must be light!
I'll start a solenoid design tonight. I should just build it but I would rather just toy with solidworks. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

lol
OK I have designed a solenoid valve. Things to note for me are: its small fiddly work, I need more small drill bits and pressure won't be a problem. I'll be needing small screws too, and o-rings maybe.
When will I get started? I don't know... _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Cmon it's just a ant weight
I hoping ants weights should be faster to build and evolve and much cheaper.
We will see if I like working with very small components thou.. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

I have penciled some design ideas and purchased some carbon fiber and small lipos too play with. I purchased a couple of air freshener cylinders from a supermarket to play with too. I've decided on a couple of other purchases when I can.
I feel with these small bots, you really need most of the components to start the building/design process. Which is slowing progress @ the moment. The big/fun testing process as always will be the pneumatics, which I'll always be looking forward too.
Can someone confirm this for me. It looks like my Spektrum DX6 is only DSM1 not DSM2, which limits my receiver options. Of coarse I need a very light receiver and it looks like then I would need to maybe sell my DX6 and get a DSM2 radio. Yeah? Thanks. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. HK radio. $46AUD shipped. (that was in lot of 3) can't go too wrong. And you don't feel bad hacking up receiver. _________________ Steven Martin

Thanks guys. If I wanted to have the same useful features as the DX6 like Dual rates and exponential I would need the DX6i. I don't think you guys would think those features are needed thou in a ant weight.
I can think of a use for rates thou, which the DX5e has. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

I've been using the DX6 features on Scarlet to limit drive and weapon speed, as well as a bit of exponential to make it drive better. Definitely worth it in some antweight designs. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
