I have a ant I'm making and I'm really finding it hard to stay under 150 g. Are they very strict on weight with ants ? Can I go over to 180g without getting in trouble. I'm entering in QLD this nov.
Also just a random question
What's the litest receiver known on the market available in the Australian market ?

What are you using for drives? Try hacked 9g servos if they are too heavy. There is a guide on the wiki _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam
<bovril> it collects data about the surrounding environment, then discards it and drives into walls

Hi guys
Well thanks for all your help, I am now using hacked servos for drivers. They are the tiny ones but man there strong. By trade I'm a metal worker and have access to all the tools to do what I need to make a robot however I tend to over engineer everything I make since my robots frame was made from 4mm thick540 stainless steel With a Rockwell hardness of 57,58. Since then I've used the old frame as a temp and remade it out of plastic . So now my ant is well under 150g
Ohh and my weapon is a little different . It has a bumper that pushes , it's a little hard to explain so I'll post a pic latter on

Hi Michael, I have the same problem with over engineering everything and making it too heavy. Glad to hear you fixed the design!

I've got some random questions I thought of while in a trace like state on my robot all Saturday lol
1
Is it true the ants must fit inside a 100 by 100mm box ? Cause if so so my ant is 108mm long :/
2
I've watched a lot of battles on utube. Do you guys battle for 1 min then the hatch opens and you try to get the other ant down the hatch
3
I've seen a clip of a ant with a spinning disk vs a ant with a flipper . The fight was amazing and the disk come flying of the ant at the end. Does anyone know the driver and if so will that crazy machine be in Qld this oct : p Lol
And Aaron I am thinking that is you with scarlet. And flipper would be Phillip with stig. _________________ Steven Martin

That's great about no cube , I'd have to chop it down if size was important lol

Don't chop it down. Besides, it is more important what you do with it than its size. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
