Ahhhh... Totally forgot about the polycarbonate. I was only thinking of the rust :p

@Rotwang - Thanks for the tips!
I have a small (6040) CNC engraver I have modified. I don't use CAD very often but it's reasonably good at cutting aluminium. I don't have welding equipment but have access to it. So I guess that puts me somewhere in between?

Most of the tools I have at home are for PCB design and reworking. I can design and develop PCBs including firmware.

I noticed a lot of people use Arduino. I have no experience with these devices. Typically I use TI, NXP or Cypress micros. I also use boards such as the BBB, rPi and ODroid.

ha ha ha ha! I like keeping you lot in suspense. I have ideas on how I plan on putting my bot together but nothing in concrete yet. No plans on the weapon though.

Is sportsman class the same as gentlemen class?

Wow! That's a lot of bots. Thanks for the links. I'm still trying to work out where stuff is hiding.
How many of those would still be active today? There are a lot that have not competed in over 10 years.

No offence people but the main web site and forum are in desperate need of improvement.
  • Removal of Flash!
  • Change the dark blue on black image map in the forums

I can help out if you want.

I agree on the flash buttons (They seemed like a good idea when I first set it up 10 years ago ! Smile ), and an updated image map up the top there, but they're just a couple of cosmetic things.

Tim wants to revamp the whole site, which Im uncertain about. since I havent seen anything in phpBB3 that will justify the large amount of work, and possible database loss that migrating could cause, and this one has been dead-reliable, whereas a lot of phpBB3 sites require regular patching to keep them online, since (Like Wordpress) it gets attacked a lot.

Im considering it, but wont be for a few weeks, possibly combined with a webhost move, and not until after the nationals are over, so as not to potentially interrupt communications prior/during that event.

Anyway, this isnt the thread to discuss it in, If any potential web-revampers want to create a new thread discussing what you have in mind, feel free.
