After Vivid the weapon motor seems completely intact.. I need to redo a few things lkike the blade and make a few spares but all seems pretty good to go on the saw front.
The drives mechanically seem fine. The ESCs are fried. They were the last of the dud batch of 25As which I should have known better than to use. But they were lying around my box. These will get upgraded to 85As.
As for the motors I am still unsure of their state they seem ok and I think I may have just fried the ESCs. I am also dubious about the batteires. These have been sitting for a very long time and the weapon was getting slow towards the end of the fight. It is quite likely I have a dud pack. But have plenty of spares so hopefully that can be sorted without any mechanical changes.
If the drills look OK I might switch to low gearing and run my hilariously large foam wheels I made. These are enoumous and stupid but should make for a good laugh in the sportsman round when comically painted.
If they are screwed then need to have a look at other options. Might test brushless drive in it. Or just replace the motors.
Hopefully doolsaw will be back up and running soon so I can get some testing in. _________________ Steven Martin

Doolsaw is getting some repairs. Been tested today and turns out it was just the old 25A ESCs which didn't cut it. I knew they were dubious before hand but decided to run with them anyway. Was obviously a mistake.
Few other things to fix up on it. I have my wheel caps which are stupidly big not sure if I should switch to low gearing and run them or just run un-invertible.
Will try drilling it tomorrow. I could swap it but it's a matched pair. _________________ Steven Martin

Extend it with little spots of mig weld then weld on suitable screw and unwind, go slow as to not get it too hot. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.

Just make a hub for it and use a locking pin through the hub and drill- those reverse screws are crap😱 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

So thought I should do a bit of a post mortem on the event.
Doolsaw - Worked pretty well for most of the event but really needs to be invertible. I think saws need to be treated as a 1 per fight consumable but somehow the weapon with just a skate board bearing has held up pretty well. The 8mm shaft did get bent by nick when I ran straight into Mr Mangle but I have a spare one to swap it out for and can't really complain with that.
Doug - Poor Doug never saw the light of day. Issues with winch controller plagued it and zoidberg all day. Time for a brushless upgrade I think.
