wanted: just about everything

I'm only just getting started and my budget is pretty low at the moment, chasing just about everything so i can start building.
Please let me know if any of you have spare or old parts that may be useful.
Main things are esc's , weapon motor , belts and pulleys .
However I'm keen to consider anything you might have that is collecting dust and waiting for a good home.
My main aim is for a sportsman class bot at the moment but also keen to do a beetle and ant as soon as the funds and parts allow .
Thanks everyone

Just about everyone has a spare / junk parts bin. Before you start getting bits, settle on a rough design, particularly the weapon. Once we know enough details we can find spare parts or suggest where you can get them the cheapest.

Thanks Nick that makes sence , i would like to build something with 2 or 4 wheels (something that will still dive when upside down) using drill motors with a spinning weapon , probably just a fairly basic design to start with so that i can start getting some practice driving it.
Thanks anyway Maddox

What weight class? Don't forget that in the Sportsman class, spinning weapon are essentially banned. The exceptions are saw blades; anything heavier is limited to 500 rpm, which makes them useless.

Pros & cons of 2 wheel VS 4 wheel:

4 wheel drive is very stable and controllable and sometimes has more grip. If you are using 4 motors, it also adds durability (you can lose 1 or 2 motors and still drive). On the downside, it costs more, weighs more and is usually harder to put together.

2 wheel drive is light and compact. It will always be simpler to construct and can cost half as much. it is usually the favoured drive in bots with more powerful weapons. The negatives are that its a little harder to control, may have less grip and is less durable as you can't drive if one motor is broken.

I will have to check the rules again i was under the impression that any commonly avaiable 'tools' were allowed not just saw blades but no custom made weapons.
Would a 4 wheel bot with 2 drive wheels be ok (From a design point of view)? front wheels are free spinning , mainly because i don't have a lot of level ground for practice and i need all the driving practice i can get.
Weight class i was looking at mostly is feather i think (the 13.6 kilo)

Is a wedge an active weapon?

A fixed wedge is an inactive defence, while and articulated wedge that can get under an opponent and lift it is an active weapon. Wedges of all types are severely limited in the Sportsman class but not in the full featherweight class.
