maybe, but then again they also bend the plates and destroy themselves pretty quick in any usage.

one of those GPB fan motors would probably do it and have more power to boot. ive got some corroded deadish ones here ill measure it up for you. im sure its about 20mm lower in total though.

If you turn upa small extra length of shaft and whack it in the pulley you could have an extra bearing support?

nah i dont think so, its more the copper plate inside is really thin and i think the pure shock and what not of fighting just bends it into the magnet (its only a paper thin gap between em) and ruins the tracks

GPB's kick arse, PnP has them you just have to look hard and have a bit of luck. Ones i got for rapture were $5 ea. Laughing Having said that they're about the same size. Confused Little smaller... lots more power though.
Maybe a nichi ra like kang and snak masheen used to use?

I seem to recall suggesting these motors early on... Smile

Anyways, I thought you were going to get a moving robot first, then worry about a weapon?

UPDATE

Well i didnt update this thread much in the rest of the buildup / aftermath of the first round at Marayong Smile

Details are in the relevant thread, however.

No new pictures yet but i have stripped Slave down and cut out all the internal structure to make way for the re-arranged drive setup which will now be direct-drive. Also i've given it a coat of matte black Smile no more shiny ! makes me a little sad. Hehe

stay tuned for more updates as i start to get the refurbishments done and maybe look at building a weapon section

oh and Glen: looks like i forgot about the photos! sorry. will bring them next time!

in further news i've completely given up on that Mig now Razz the wire feed tubes are all broken and its pretty much impossible to get the wire through to the tip now. kicked it into the corner, then,

went to bunnings and bought their cheapest arc welder (like Bort has) and it works a billion times better but its annoying having to strike strike strike before welding... oh well Smile

new drive layout is coming together, im using a flexible coupling to join the motor shaft of the scooter motor to the wheel shafts, and the wheels are now pinned through the shaft. This means im now turning the shaft, rather than the wheels ON the shaft. Unfortunately, still no real bearings to hold the shafts. I'd love to, but there's a lack of room for that AND the shaft joiner, since I only designed room for the bearings to fit when it was going to be a belt drive.

Anyway, once i make some new motor mounts will do a bit of testing and see if its any faster with no gearing, or just fails!
