Inclined blades have a bad reputation in the US. Totally Offensive went thru a stage remarkably like your CAD and the results were really bad. Don't take my word for it, ask around on the RFL forum. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

What are the plus sides of inclined blades?? I cant see any but having a greater chance to hit the ground. _________________ A journey of a million miles begins with a single step followed by a hell of a lot of other steps so get walking

If it isn't inclinded the blades would be 80mm or more above the ground. Since there are robots that are 75mm high that won't be any good. Also letting people get under the blades and defflecting them upward is what causes 50% of the spinner inversions, the 50% are done by blades that are placed below the point where is attaches to the axial.

UK Heavyweight Wild Thing did fairly well with an inclinded blade, but the weapon wasn't anything to write home about.... I think if you keep the CG of the robot as low as possible and make the wheel base as wide as possible, you should have minimal problems. Either way, it will be cool to watch if it does flip _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

I got myself a cultivator disc. It's 480mm in diameter, 5mm thick at the edge, 6mm in the center, about 500 brinell and unfortuantly it weights 7.7kg. I guess I better start building the rest of the robot and then see how much I need to remove from the disc.

During RRC in England i went with my ant against one of Peter Wallers creations with an inclined disk, and before i had a chance to blink my robot was out of the arena. They can be very effective, but only a small lift in the back and the disk hits the floor and its over.

ofcourse thats assuming the robot is capable of hittingthe floor ;)simply build it so that there is ground support up front then unless the supports get bent/broken the robot isnt capable of hitting its disc against the floor and over all it becomes harder to flip _________________ as a shadow is seen and not heard i am here

I forgot that I finished the design a few weeks ago. I have almost finished machining the hubs and axial. Unfortuantly I pushed the weight limit so much I don't think I can add the doll, so I designed a girly blade for demos.
This is the standard blade.
Here's the girly blade.
Here's the 1m, 4.5kg bar.
And here is the swing hammer.

8kg. The computer says it should be 9.5kg, so this disc is too light.
You can't see the frame under the disc.

Not on a lathe. I brought them 3 years ago from the robot marketplace when I was wanting to rebuild The Aggressor. But I decided to build Sidewinder instead so they have been sitting in a box. Really I have only spent $8 to build this robot so far.
