Having a BEC that U can't use over 12V (just like the Castle Creations model) is kinda pointless too. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Hobby City has upsized on their brushless motors... Found one the size of a Magmotor, they reckon it will peak 6.5KW!

Wasn't Glen lusting after one of these last year. You are right, the motor might only be $149, but the controller would be $400 or more - not really sure what I would use it for anyway... _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Just saw this on the hobbycity forum, people might want to consider it if they were getting the sentilon, don't know how accurate it is though.
"Dear all users and admin,
I recently get the third version of the ex. Sentilon, OEMRC and now TR 100A (12s) ESC.
There is a tendency recognisable that the whole ESC is becoming cheaper and cheaper.
At the third version they only use plastic covers.
Moreover some devices on the PCB hase changed to no name parts.
Soldering is in some cases more slutty.
It works - O.K. - I know that's the point - but what's with lifetime?
(with cheaper electronic devices)
The price of the ESC has increased! But not the quality.
The same issue can be seen at TowerPro motors.
They now use thinner bells at their outrunners.
The end caps are not of the same quality of workmanship as they were before....
It seems that the evolution is going reverse!" _________________ ( •_•)

question -
im using a brushless motor to drive a pump with a plush 30amp controller from united hobbies. i want to just turn it to full RPM when i turn a switch on so im in need of a circuit of some form.
you cant start the controller on full rpm as it has a safety lockout so youd need to have it at 0% pwm for a second or two then go to full.
simplest (for me) is a PIC and some software.
you could try hacking something with a 555 and some sort of RC pot thing. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

You could buy a cheap 'servo exerciser' module for around $20. If you really didn't like the proportional control, you could replace the pot with a switch & resistors to go from 0 to 100%.
