That's what you said last time as well Laughing

The question is.... "Is the sword of death forged harder then the shield of immortality?"

You two have been sniffing paint thinner again, haven't you? Laughing

@ Jeff: if there are any problems with the Victors, I can lend you some booster cables.

Swords of death or shields of immortality are no match for duct tape and string in a Experienced Roboteer's hand. Razz

@ Nick/ Aaron,
Jeff F mentioned something along those lines, no I wasn`t aware of booster cables but thanks, I will be picking brains when the time comes.
At the moment I`m concentrating on the arena, the bot is running ok at the mo with good old servo switching, though without an ackerman steering wheel it runs like a busted shopping trolley Laughing

Is the Victor problem a reciever voltage one? Iv`e been running mine on 7.2v; been fine and the servos run strong and fast. Or is it a different issue?

A higher supply voltage *might* help. The problem is that the input to the Victors needs more current to drive it than some recievers can supply; in that case, the voltage sags and the Victor can't read the signal. Some recievers work fine so hook everything up and if a servo works off the reciever but the victor does not, then you need a booster.

Did you get cables for the Victor? It uses 3 pin plugs like Futaba but withthe opposite gender, so you need a cable with a male plug on one end. Finally, what are you using to do the mixing? If you are using a V-tailmixer or an IMX mixer you probably won't need booster cables as the mixers supply more current.

Thanks Nick,
I bought a pair of extention leads yesterday but they didn`t have Vtails in stock. I can borrow the one Iv`e already got, but that controler set will be going back into Axecutioner eventually because it has a servo steering wheel.

What is an IMX mixer? My Vtail has a bit of an "over travel" problem on one "corner" I had to remake the micro switch board to accomodate this. I was going to try a different brand this time. Smile

an IMX mixer just does the mixing for you and has a failsafe on board. i have an old version that i will never use if you want it. just beware that if it failsafes it doesnt start again - only a slight problem, for you at least! Laughing

The IMX is very much like a vtail mixer except it is physically bigger and is guaranteed to work with the Victors. You can get 'em at the Robot Marketplace although it's probably not worth it unless you are unhappy with the Vtail mixer you have.

Very Happy Hi there gang!!, Sorry I havnt been about for a while, weve had a wild
shooting schedule and weve got another next week!-I should be there
an upgraded Razorback, wich I now plan to keep running until it gets
trashed Laughing (as im now building Razorback2, Im gonna have some
more fun with the original!)

On a side note, I have a welded mini cassius chassis I was
playing with-Ive decided not finish it because of R2 as well as wanting
to start a robot for the next weight class-I feel I can build a better crusher
with a slightly higher weight limit, (the 14 kilo limit makes serious squash
power a tricky thing!)-that being said, I had an Idea that maybe I could
donate it as an encouragement prize?-its 10mm box, with an upward
flipper-Just a thought as I dont really want to toss it!!

We have have some down time now(phew!), and Il be able
to catch with some of you, see what youve been up to Very Happy
