I should be able to get contacts through work as I am currently dealing with a customer who would use quite a lot of the stuff. But it isn't something that needs to be thought about yet.

Get in contact with bisalloy through their website if you want to go down that path, they're friendly and answer emails unlike many other Australian businesses! It seems to be quite cheap also compared to the price Aaron paid for his hardox.

The Hardox was expensive because I had to get it an offcut from a secondary supplier, which ended up around the $480 for around 1/6th of a full sheet.... The full sheet (6000 x 2500!!!!) was quoted as $1280... But I didn't have the money nor the space to store it here... So I bought what I could handle and afford Cool

Got the cash now, might buy some 4mm and 6mm Razz

After talking to Craig Danby, our english Robot Wars friend, last weekend we have been getting serious with the designing. Craig told us to build a big dome spinners, but we want to make this:

I call it Prowler . Still a quite bit more drawing to go, but enough to get started.

Shocked Holy sh*t!
It's a mighty impressive robot, good luck with it! Smile I would recommend precision oxycut or a similar company for the disk, some of suicides weapons were only $14 ea including materials, the harder bis400 grade is not more expensive than the softer ones.

Looks pretty cool!

My only suggestion is frame shapes. You have a bunch of triangle shapes in the frame with corners loped off. If you can make them 3 sides rather than 4 or 5 its going to be a whole lot stronger and I think frame strength is something you will need! Alternately some extra cross bracing could add a lot of rigidity.

Waste of time. Won't finish drawing it (Yes, that model isn't complete). Changed my mind that pneumatics would be easier to build, much cheaper and twice as powerful. The setup in these drawings would put 2000J into the weapon. A 100mm bore, 150mm stroke ram at 800psi would have double that and not need $1000 worth of batteries.

do work out what the reaction force to that 2000j is going to do to your bot.

Yeah, robogames. And I just really want to.

My idea for the pneumatic hammer is basically is basically removing Devastator's flipper arm and putting a hammer on it. When Devastator's bungee broke the arm would fly all the way over and smack the ground harder then Avenger's hammer even though is was a lot lighter. Plus there was no reaction nose lifting.
And its fun to draw.
