Lightweight for me is on the cards. Just focusing on finishing feather Caber atm.

Must admit I am disturbed to see how professional everyones lightweights are turning out as first attempts.

Yeah I say full on combat but we need to upgrade the viewing screen i think. But lets discuss that on Saturday.

Well be there with Major Chip Hazard whos just waitin to drill a few new recruits Laughing Id like to have a second lightweight there to fill out the ranks a bit-may
be something simple fun and quick-Ive plenty of bits and pieces for one,
but it wont be a wedge-my try an odd weapon or something crazy like that!-
This ones going to be big me thinks! Very Happy Jas

I've also been planning! If the event is pushed back two weeks after i finish my HSC I could gather enough parts to make my own lightweight, i've got those 100W 12v motors from oatley that I'm thinking will do really nice as drive motors. Weapon wize... I recall aaron saying that YU812 ran of two parallel packs of 2400's, so I might do the same! Twisted Evil

Its been very quiet here of late! I just scored a bunch of old computers from work; if you fancy a SUN Ultrasparc or a HP server, its first come first served at the event and no reserving on the forum. Anything not taken is target practise!

Just changed the title of the thread to coincide with the 2 weeks later date. So now around one month out from the event.

Obviously everyone that's been to a battleshed event knows that we are a little laid back, so don't consider this being pushy.... Just wanted to get a rough idea of who's thinking of coming up (or down) for it?

Just for everyone's info, the plan was to have the lightweights on Sat (a change for us, but the benefit of flexibility) and the feathers on Sun. That way anyone that has to leave early for flights/long car trips on Sun won't be affected too much. This is ofcourse assuming that the first unrestricted lightweight competition is the main attraction for this event. Anyone think otherwise?

I just salvaged two huge switch mode power supplies - 12V @ 35A and 5v @45A. They are not from a computer and very likely don't need the 5V rail to be heavily loaded for the 12V rail to deliver full power. They have an output connector that will need to be deciphered, but for someone who knows how to use a multimeter they would be great for running a battery charger or two. Perhaps they could be prizes?
