Ifixed up the links so they take you to the full sized photos instead of the thumbnails. Also, "Obvious Clone" is infact a clone of KO Cool But I'm looking at adding some anti spinner gear to it. I'll try my luck with 3mm stainless too Twisted Evil

You gotta love the name though Rolling Eyes

Well I welded some of the chassis on Parasite today. nice and tight i just had to tap the winch motors with a hammer and they wedged in nice and snug. Also made a bodged working charger for the 72mhz radio. 15mins and it was a goer! My RC car now has more then 5m of range!

Starting to save money for the new featherweight project. An estimate of $500 minimum to get this thing going, so I'm saving up till Christmas for the expensive bits while scrounging and builting most of it with what I have here. Also recieved a full 5kg spool of Aluminium Mig Wire today! w00t! Not to mention a full 15kg roll of stainless steel wire too! w00t^2!

Just need to buy a bottle of Argon for the mig now and a different set of feeder rollers, a few different contactor tip, a better gas shroud and I'll be welding stainless steel and aluminium!

Photos of Parasite's progress from today will be resized and upload tonight.

Going to change the shape of the chassis on Parasite, thank god it is only about 20 tac welds to undo. Well make it so the weapon will fit in better and will make the track set up easier to build. Just means I'm going to have to change the armour a bit since the Stainless will be too small. Goin down the dump to find some car bonnets Very Happy

Will be chassing another winch motor for the weapon, so Marshal, if your reading this, watch out, I'm out to pinch another one Twisted Evil Vice is almost finished at school, so I can then take Parasite into school and work on it there!

Do you think that car bonnets will make good armour?

They are cheap, they are steel and I can bend, cut and shape and weld them as much as i like. Plenty good for throw away armour if it goes dett to damaged. Unlike other armour, you can just flatten it back out and weld up the tears. one good thing about mild steel i guess.

I am just a little concerned about a certain evil roboteer with his sadistic spinner. I would like to armour my bot as lightly as posible but still survive an impact. Your idea on car bonnet armour would definitely be light and affordable.

Well Annihilation has managed to put holes in 3mm Steel. But only small holes, within the range of 20mm x 5mm.

Don't worry Philip, you've survived every other time Evil or Very Mad

You haven't hit me yet, apart from tearing off my flipper. The Aggressor has given me two vents.

3 mm steel. Is that all? Great.

Never had the solid blade on when I hit HB3.

Will find the VCR head made out of 3mm steel for the next event if it's still around. It was damaged on one of the first initial tests when Annihilation cut the VCR in half.

a small up date

Hi i have had a play with our bots and found our major cause of radio probs was a broken aerial on T2M and our 40 mgz reciever has an intermittant fault .

T2M has its aerial bebuilt and a tuneing coil fitted . the centre stainless steel wire was broken .

Anhilation now has a new aerial and just needs the blade fixed so the teeth dont get stuck in this time .

Just need to fit a new motor on to heamorage and its ready to go as well or it can still use the old one but it crunches a bit when you turn it lol .

Ok Havent posted in here for a while

All the robots are ready to roll hopefully----I just need to put a coaxial plug on my new 36 mgz reciever and we should be in busines the 40 mgz is still playing up so it probaly wont be used un till we get a new reciever or find the cause of the intermitant fault in the other one .
Heamorage just got a bit of broken magnet removed from it wheapons motor and its going again

T2M seems ok now its recieved a new aerial . The wedge bot seems to be
working ok as well so it was the 40 mgs radio that caused most our probs in Sydney as we used it ain all the bots ecept t2m which had a 29mgz but got a broken aerial wire that made it play up also.

I even got bored yester day and gave all the bots a quick hit with various colours of spray paint to make them all pretty again ..
