The 2 blue front corners. Those got cut to ribbons by Caliope, and after that smeared out by daredevil.

One of the results of the massive hits was the "breaking" of the sealing between the hardmounted buffertank and main bottle.
The other annoying bit was the destruction of the flipperarm, acting as a crumple zone.

With the addition of the extra layer of HDPE and hardox, the flipperarm-box section has some sideways protection.

The buffertank is now even more hardmounted, and even acting as a stressed member of the frame. Unless the spine gets bend, the stresses on the connections should be in the limits of the sealant.

Last event :"FACTS" in Ghent wasn't good to Team RCC. Hannibalito wasn't happy, and did show it. First solid ali that did the job for 10 years Sheared off and new bolts lost their heads. After that de ESC went into safe mode, leaving us limping around as a dead, rheumatic snail. To finalise in a fight were weapon and drive failed in a distinct unspectacular way.

Perun, the one that always runs, lost the fuse, mechanicaly. And the fight after that, the link. To end up with 2 motor that replaced magnets with shards.

Kashei Besmertnye, the weapon stays a sore point. Needs a full rebuild.

Nebelwerfer 4 . A monster is born. 4mm grade 5 ti deforms undet the blows of the disk, the brushless drives are light, controlable and utterly powerfull. The disposable "ablative " hdpe armor took the worst blows. Untill the weaponmotor separated from the gearbox.
Some tweaking and 1 kg of improvements will show the true might of this Awakened One

The day before FACTS, and at FACTS a German filmcrew had fun here and at the event.

The result...

We had anothern event. Utrecht was a repeat of FACTS.
Hannibalito 3 kept on being obnoxious, this time frying drives by the bucketload.
Probably sulking because Hannibalito 5 was trying to take the limelight.

Hannibalito5 , in sympathy and/or respect for the elder brother, fried the drive too....

Kashei, the weapon got some improvements, tested it to an inch of its life at home, seemed ok. First fight at the event, a gear that never failed, came lose... That is welded now. Next point of failure please.

Perun, charge battery, replace shredded wheels, ready. Untill the ESC failed mechanicaly.

Nebelwerfer 4... The show is on. This small monster is feared now in the Dutch/Belgian/German 6 kg class.

And that's what prompted a small rebuild.
The aluminium/titanium sandwich frame is replaced with a full welded titanium frame. The disk went from 800 grams of destruction to more than 1 kg.

And we went to far in the idea of an undercutter. Went undergroundcutter.

What's wrong with the 'underground cutter'? The video looks fine to me although I am very biased towards undercutters.

The road didn't like the strikes. If that disks gets dug in the arena floor, it's pinball machine time.

Chewing up the floor won't make friends with the event organiser! What I find useful on Scissorhands is to have a range of spacers to fit on the front pivot point. which raises and lowers the blade. that is really effective in avoiding other horizontal weapons or attacking weak spots. It looks like you have enough ground clearance at the back to do the same thing

Added 5 mm of armor on front to do so. Is enough to raise the disk to 3mm above the floor when braking.

We ran in a power issue.
The Mod 0.75 Z9 pinions press fitted and Loctite 638 won't hold.

The gears are too small to be welded to shafts (I admit defeat here).
Anybody an idea ?

I've peened the shaft with a pin punch, added loctite and then pressed the pinion on for a couple of difficult pinions that kept coming loose. Anything more stubborn then that either got brazed with silver solder or TIG'd.

My favourite solution for this sort of problem: buy some pinion wire and make your own pinion. Make it as long as possible and ream the bore under size. Also leave the teeth on the back of the pinion so the bore expands less as the pinion is pressed on the shaft.
