I have to say, these are the new standard for antweight RX's in my books (I'll be fitting all my ants with them). A quick swap of servo leads to the Micro 1.25mm leads and you can make everything plug and play still.

Quick comparison of their size.

Did these receivers failsafe correctly?

Laughing Oh legal system you amuse me. Looks pretty neat, but there has been sooo many similar items on kickstarter already, I think one of the US robot guys even had one recently? Confused

Agreed, everyone is making Ti multi-tools. This one looks better than most and I can't recall seeing one with a carabiner built in.

I've only tested mine with a servo so cannot comment on failsafe conditions yet. Will try to do a test in the up coming weekend. However, all the OrangeRX's I've used all failsafe correctly so I'm pretty confident that this one will.

Spotted this in Super Cheap Auto last night, the Black & Decker MATRIX 20V MAX* Lithium Drill/Driver for $70.

The interesting part is it has a removable head on it that allows you to swap attachments, like:

MATRIX Oscillating Tool Attachment ($40)

MATRIX Trim Saw Attachment ($40)

MATRIX Sander Attachment ($30)

MATRIX Jig Saw Attachment ($30)

MATRIX Router Attachment ($40)

MATRIX Impact Driver Attachment ($40)

They make a 12V ($50) and a 240V ($70) version that all the attachments fit to as well.

Very keen on grabbing a 20V & 240V drills with addition impact driver and oscillating attachments for the workshop. If the attachments are of good quality, they might even be worthy using for parts to build decent robot gearboxes.

I'm guessing many of the attachments that operate at a low speed contain gearboxes within the attachment ?

Hobby King are now selling Brushless Gimbal motors which is all the craze at the moment for camera stabilization and FPV flying. However, looking at these, they also look like they might make suitable hub motors for Beetleweights if they can handle 3S voltages.

2804-210Kv Brushless Gimbal Motor

Poles: 12N14P
KV(RPM/V): 210
Resistance: 10.4omh
Weight: 35g
Wire: 0.19mm
Torque: 240g
$18.16

4008-70Kv Brushless Gimbal Motor

Poles: 12N14P
KV(RPM/V): 70
Resistance: 17.6omh
Weight: 104g
Wire: 0.21mm
Torque: 540g
$29.58

Being designed to be essentually in stall all the time as a servo type motor, I'm assuming the onboard BESC should be able to handle the amps and there should be ZERO delay since it's a servo type controller.
