Now that the secrets out I can post some of the build pics of Suicide. It took time, but the results were worth it...

6mm Bis 400 weapon blades (immensely strong, no damage after the event, about the only thing that didn't fail!) Cheap as too, highly recommended!

Precious Grammes....

How it currently stands from saterday. Smile

EVENT REPORT:

Well, as with all new spinners, their first competition is often quite substandard. With a grenade spinner, even more so! Laughing

Suicide vs Orbit:
With orbit now just a big steel wedge, I didn't really give myself much of a chance here. I spun up and tried to hit his less protected rear end but andrew kept his wedge on me, what resulted on the first full speed hit involved the weapon blade flying off and andrews wedge shearing all but one screw holding it on... The resulting wedge fight soon saw suicide royaly owned. Laughing Orbit wins.

Suicide vs Cyborg:
Yet another steel wedge! We had locktited the weapon blade in place so i was a little more confident this time. The fight was more violent this time, and I got some good hits on cyborg before suicide randomly stopped. It was working once I pulled it out of the arena... Confused

Suicide vs Stealth:
It really wasn't my day! Shocked Actualy, suicide did get a lot of hits in on stealth before eventualy being flipped. Damage to stealth involved a warped flipper arm and a removed castor, plus other structural damage. Suicide also put a few good hits in the floor in my attempts to gyro it over Laughing . One of the motors also smoked here, but seemed ok after the fight so I didn't bother replacing it (just as well considering the melay!).

Melay:
It was quite disapointing actualy, I only managed to attack my own wood bot before Lindsay got in and flipped me. He said he wanted to flip me again, but Jolt got to him first! Shocked The worst however came when Nick with his most excellent driving skills ran full speed into the rear skid of Suicide, bending it out of place. That damage wasn't that bad, however the sheer force of the impact blew the face off the weapon motor and killed that damaged drill motor by shattering its magnets. Shocked

Improvements:
HSC is shitteh meaning our next round has physics following on the monday. I may be able to get with jason to stick my EV car fan motor into it and get it going again for that event, but this version may be retired for a new brushless one for robowars. Will see how study goes (lol, study...) Laughing

Sorry to hear about the damage in the melee. To be fair though. I think most of those colisions were rebounds from Ya Mum Wink. Let me know if I can help fix anything

Laughing This is true. Actualy, you did supprisingly little damage to ya mum, apart from the top off coarse. Smile You took a small chunk out of the bis at one point though, how do the teeth look?

The paint job is completely ruined Shocked! Apart from that I can't tell the teeth have even been used. Ya Mum is so low that I am surprised it took any damage - it should drive right under Jolt's blade.

BTW: looking at the build pictures, it looks like Lipo packs would be a perfect fit in place of the Nicads. You could match them up with a brushless motor and save enough weight to fit a monster blade or disk

If you find some weight I would probably suggest some nice UHMW roll bars.

most people buy the $5 red wheels from bunnings which has a plastic insert which screws onto the shaft. its dodgy, but it does the job somewhat

Yes, what glen said. However I use a set of metal replacement hubs made by Andrew in QL. I still need to pay you for them by the way Laughing

Haha. A brushless version is well into the design phase, but needs an entirely new frame to take advantage of the smaller and lighter motor.
It also needs a healthy injection of cash. Shocked
