Greetings new builder. Very Happy

Sure some flippers are expensive but I've built a flipper weapon for less $50 using garden sprinkler parts, coke bottles and bike pumps. It didn't throw the other robot very far but it was a lot of fun.

Events in Queensland are a bit slow at the moment due to lack of arenas. My brother and I want to turn our garage into an arena which might happen before the end of the year. Now we have a bigger car we can get bigger arena parts home from the shops.

looks a little scrapy no offence but seems like a awsome idea.
Our main concerne is the control panel (i refer to it is a mobo) and the moters like the the mobo advertised on robowars shop was 350! for a bit of electronic equipment. Im still cheking on the on the motors though

tell me how this arena goes in your garage sounds fun.

I would convert my garage as well but it has aprox 50-75 broken tvs in there (my dad fixes em slowly real slow....)

so yeah we got some great ideas mainly for armor we have a plan to make top part of the bot have 2 parts here is a simple diagram

__________________________________________________ this layer steel
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()() this layer springs!
__________________________________________________ steel again!

so a lot of hammer type bots will have there attack absorbed

SORRY FOR BAD SPELLING I HATE ENGLISH I REALLY DO (IM CROATIAN)

your mobo is what we call a speed controller. It's a bit hard to say which are expensive since they all seem about the same when they are compared. The bigger the motors they can drive means they are more expensive. Plus the one you see drives two motors with mixing and junk like that, so quite a bit more then a RC car controller. You can find cheaper, such as looking here www.robotmarketplace.com , but they will be smaller or have less toys.

And my old robot does look crappy. But it did last 5 times as many fights as it was designed to and it did have about 7 different weapons during that time. The damn thing just wouldn't die.

the would mean he had a car that was real small e.g. a toyota starlet and he got a biger care like a land cruiser witch enables him to bring home biger and better parts for his robot

So what should i look for in a speed controller. We had a plan on a 3 wheel drive triangle way front one just steers

Triangle?
That was my first robot, it used radio control servos to push in switches to control the robot. It is a simple and cheap method of controling a robot but only provides full on or off control of motors. Smile

Hi Josip (is that your name?)
Always good to see new interest in robot combat. if you are thinking of getting involved, my advice is simple. think of the weapon you want, find out if it can be done both in the rule book and if you can do it with the tools and cash you have at hand, and if those answers are yes, then build the weapon first and then mobilize it.

Build the robot, there will be plenty of events for you to smash stuff.

Have fun!!

you can ask anyone here on the forum about the rules, I think they are on this site somewhere.

Ditch the third wheel, you don't need it. The normal way we streer our "bots is called Tank Steerinbg, and you only need 2 wheels. One goes forward, the other goes back, the robot goes in circles Very Happy
