Bucko's Bots - Victoria

hello everyone i am george and this is my first robot (maybe)
http://robowars.org/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1439
the basic princable behind this robot is a bit like cobra and another robot called shmackhead.
it is fairly small so robots with weapins like jolt (last time i saw it the spinner was on top is it still?) cant hit it.
"teeth" like cobra to "grab and pull" opposing robots into a pin.
i only have a 2ch radio that RC racecars have (so i cant put a moving weapon in)
also with the "lack" of moving weapons i will probly have enough wieght left for extra armour or bigger motors.
construction starts on monday-tuesday-ish
(i have all the radio gear at home already)
Comments and critisism plase

Shocked A new guy that doesn't post a super duper spinner robot first up. Well done! Cool
It's a very nice idea, and very close to a robot called "off set" which was at robowars along with "shmackhead" which is the bot with hoop i think you mean.
And regarding robot with weapons on the top, you might want to see a pic of Nick (builder of jolt)s new creation - Scissorhands. It's got a build thread. It has a low undercutting blade. However, "off set" had a frame made from a plow disk, which is very sturdy and hard steel. If you could get something similar then there's very little spinners could do to such a low and well armoured robot. Good luck!
Smile

How do you mean you can't do tank steering? You can use wheel radios for tank steer robots if you know how Smile .
Super duper spinners, as in a lot of new guys all think they can build ultra complex robots with 4 weapons that will destroy everything and have 10mm titanium armour... lol
And don't worry about being 14, you gotta start somewhere. Smile
If you've got msn i'll be more than happy to answer any questions you've got.

theres a place to start besides the wiki should help you make a servo switching board which is the cheapest easy way to tank steer

You only need 2 servos
a 2ch radio and reciever
and piece or wood/ etc to mount it on done pretty cheap and easy compaired to other methods

UBER SPINNER OF DOOOOMMM

well this robot is not going to be a main fighting robot my friends and I are useing it to see how all of this works (hooking up Ibc shortcuts and such)
but the first "competetive" bot is coming up later so not to worry
p.s. i will post a pic of the "competeive" bot soon

It is a great feeling to have a bot moving under it's own power by remote control. Even drills with wheels on a piece of ply wood with servo switching is an accomplishment. We all start somewhere.

update

a few "disapointing" notes

1. as dyrodium has pointed out to me the speed controleer thingy will probably not hold up to the drills (its too weak)

2.i wont be able to get an IBC and spektrum (sp?) untill christmas

3. Team Kid Karnage (under revision) has under estimated all of the hard work we have dicided to ditch a practice and go in to the reall thing (i have a fealling we will regret it)

Good notes (YAY)

1. we have started the P.A.D (paint aided design) on our new bot Braindead

2.its design is alot easier (hopfully) than curvys

3. it is a competetive robot. it has a weapon ( sorry cerberus3112 no UBER SPINNER OF DOOM)

4. P.A.D will be up by monday (hopefully)
