Chucky's CAD is coming along neatly. I've had to change to a Liploy battery, the A123 were just a little to large no matter where I put them. I'll use A123 for practicing and the Liploy batts in combat, so as to not drain there life to quickly. Or maybe just use the Liploy, I don't know I've got 20 A123 cells so I may as well use them.
The Liploy batt I'm looking @ is the: ThunderPower 2600mAh LiPoly 5S 18.5V Pack - Prolite V2 Series
Seems to fit what I need, just about. There $125 from RMP. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

. they have the same Thunder battery at the same price but FREE shipping. the very similar Poly RC PQ-2500XP-5S is only $96. I have been very happy withthe Poly RC packs I bought from this place

Thanks Nick.
Just had a look @ replacing the front (quite large) wedge from Hardox to titanium. Shit titanium is expensive in large plates, might have to start saving money or hope I can stay with Hardox. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Heres a very early CAD:
I hope to have the weight to have all the armor. There still needs to be a lot of weight taken out of the frame with milling/holes and cuts. But this CAD is the general idea i'm going for.
Comments are very welcome, negative or positive. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

You probably already thought of this, but it looks like the ends of the flipper would get jammed in the slotted wedge if either part got bent. I'd leave plenty of clearance around there. The armour looks like its on rubber shock mounts, am I right?

Thanks guys. Rubber shock mounted panels, correct. I hope I will have weight for them.
Also been thinking of armoring up only the bottom(say 100mm) of the front wedge and the rest can be thinner. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Also has anyone dropped 30lbs from say 6 feet up onto a set of scales or if someone was good with maths. I just wouldn't mind knowing what sort of load you would get from a featherweight falling from say 6 feet. Thanks _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Yeah, I haven't put I lot of thought into the wedge yet and It was the last thing draw in today. I agree with what has been said, but of coarse if you open up gaps like that you give horizontal spinners something more to bite on. I'll work on it, cheers. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

That's an awful lot of material removal, are you sure the arm will be strong enough?

I will need to triple check everything, but yes and it was always planned. The material is 14mm Fortal(7075-T6). Theres a lot of weight to come out of the frame too, once its all sorted. I've designed the last frame, which was fine so I have confidence from that but we will only know for sure when its all done. _________________ Imagination is more important than knowledge.
