Quick little test drive of Little Ego
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVDSnAGrN1o

Will need to spend a bit of time with the rates on the spektrum to get it to drive in a straight line, it's a bit of handful at the moment.

Assuming it has enough traction, it should be able to push another antweight fine. I'll have a wedge on the front to help push as well.

uMBX Update

Found a perfect source of teeth for uMBX today.
Saw blade teeth!

I have 24 spares, and they are the right size, shape and weight.
Quick snapshot of them fitted in the spare chassis.

Little Ego Update

Fiddled around with Little Ego for a while, found a piece of 2mm aluminium in the shed to make a giant scoop.

Drives pretty nice with the scoop, just need to sharpen the edge of it to ensure it's perfectly flat with the floor.

Yeah, I'm currently trying to con someone who knows assembly code into changing the brushless controller code so I can run it in melty brain mode, but he keeps drinking too much beer to change the code Sad

The expansion of the wheel is a problem, it will cause crazy wear patterns and is most likely going to explode. Might have to work out a way of getting a 2:1 gear reduction in the bot to slow the wheel speed down on 2 cell.

Those green ones would be far too soft for that speed, go the blue ones, or better yet like.. not banebots ...
If you have time duck down to DSE and get one of those oldschool P9004 motors, they were the shiz. Laughing

My random $20 3am HK order arrived today!
6x 30mm foam white wheels
10x 35mm foam green wheels
2x 2S 138mAh LiPo
1x 12g Corona 929MG Metal Geared servo.

The little batteries and foam wheels should help lower the weight on Little Ego enough to put a lifter/clamp on it!
