It will be interesting to see how long you can drive on a 138 mAh. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

I'm interested to see how they go too. I'm running standard size servo's that can stall out around 1amp, so I'm hoping they don't pull too much out of the packs. Will see how it goes

Could you please tell me the size of your Pololu wheel? I have read 32 mm and 28.6 mm. I don't know which is correct. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
Taking a leaf out of kkeerroo's book, I bought a 90mm hole saw to make the shell/chassis for uMBX.
Will machine it down to size this weekend and start working on getting the guts installed. I think the waterjet carbon panels should only need minor trimming to make them fit the hole saw chassis. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Machined up the new chassis.
Running into some weight issues. Ring is currently 81g with dimensions of 89mm diameter x 30mm heigh x 1.2mm wall thickness. I can loose nearly 10g by machining the height down to the minimum 26mm. I may have to go to an 76mm holesaw yet as it looks to be about 20g lighter then the current one and I should still be able to fit everything in nicely.
Weight wouldn't have been an issue if I wasn't using a 50g DSE 12V P9004 motor for the drive ... Will get to brushless eventually! _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Just ebay'd a 75mm holesaw for $25.
Thinking of having two spinner bots for the Edge Event. First being uMBX in the 75mm shell and a fully functional melty brain (hopefully ). The second being "No Brainer" which will just be the 89mm uMBX shell, a brushless motor, a battery and rx+besc which will just spin at stupidly insane speeds and just hockey puck around the arena _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

75mm holesaw arrived today...
It's gonna be a tight fit...
Probably really need closer to an 80mm holesaw, but I'm running out of time to get this running already. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Running the gauntlet on weight still...
Still need to put the motor switch in, foam wheel, teeth, led, accelerometer and a top cover. I might drill the carbon fiber base out a bit more to get it down to 2-3g (from 5g) and run a 0.5mm plastic top dust cover. Then look at drilling some 6 or 8mm holes in the shell where the wheel and teeth go. If weight is still an issue, I'm going to look into drilling 6mm holes all the way around the shell and then shrinking some coke bottle over the outside to work as a composite armour.
