It only takes a couple of minutes to get the coloring to happen.
The multicolor one was just me doing 6-8 different voltages one after the other while rotating the section of titanium in the coke.

I initially tried white vinegar for the solution (having read on the intarwebz that it worked too) but it failed, so went and grabbed some coke and it worked pretty much instantly.

Coke isn't much good either, despite what the interwebs might say. Try a sodium bicarbonate solution with hot water - I got some really intense blues at between 18 and 22 volts. As long as the solution is fairly strong, the colour will develop in seconds. It really helps to get the part as polished as possible and to clean it with metho just before you anodise it.

That's a funny story, the answer is yes and no Smile

Just to avoid filling the Nationals even thread with waffle, I thought I answer this here.
Crimson will be there, sort of. On the weekend I discovered one of my 3S lipols was left in the robot box from sydney that went in baggage instead of carry on and it was now a bit puffy... (OPPS!) Then I ended up frying my last 3S pack by plugging a 4S pack into it inadvertently with my octopus charging lead... Looking in my parts pile revealed I had 5x 160mah cells to make 2x 3S packs with Rolling Eyes

Since both Scarlet and Crimson run way under powered on 2S, a decision was made. I withdrew Crimson, pulled the drives out of it and swapped in the pin n lock drives from Scarlet and swapped over the 1 tooth disc from Scarlet (with the Crimson bar as backup). So technically Crimson is competing, but as Scarlet Razz (despite being 3/4 Crimson). Scarlet has a positive track record at the moment that I want to try to improve at Nationals (or dilute with some losses).

The old Scarlet has been reassembled with a few spare parts and will be mounted on a little plinth for display at events and on my desk at work Smile
