IT says "loud bands" - I can't see that in a library Laughing Anywhere in Southbank is good; I had a blast even though bot bot got trashed!

EDIT: IF you have enough time and IF we have a good field, would you be interested in Beetleweights?

Doing ants as follow up from the workshops. Unfortunately don't think we will have enough time to do beetles as well. See how many you guys have and will see what I can do but gunna be pretty tight I think atm as the opening hours are from 12.

Atm we are located in the auditorium next to the library. And work area will be downstairs. Space shouldn't be an issue and the plan atm is to organise trolleys so we can just wheel the next fight into the arena.

Any Admins want to move to State Specific? Also Brett can you give someone else access to the next QLD event thread. Sorta looks bad that the date is from many years ago.

Which thread do you mean Steve, and what do you mean by "give someone access ?"

I had the thought of creating a new top-level area on the forum called "Upcoming Events" where threads can be started for events that are approaching, and I will move them into "State Specific" *after* the event has passed.

That way there is a single area with just a few threads in it about whats happening soon for people to look in. And then I can link to that area from the RoboWars homepage.

Any thoughts on that ? or better ideas ?

The " Announcement: The Next QLD event" sticky in this section is the one I would like access to I think Andrew (totalyrecycled) is the only one who can post in it. All the dates from QLD, NSW, VIC are from 2006.

And the current thread we are in it would be good if it could be moved to state specific, as no one really seems to check the announcements for events, that is probably my mistake for putting it here.

Maybe a new events section would be good as that basically is what state specific is these days. Moving the threads after the events would probably get a bit annoying as well but if you can be bothered to do that it might make things easier for people.

@Nick. Yes I would like to the more we can do the better the weekend for everyone.

Would a 1.2m x 1.2m antweight arena be big enough for the beetles?
I assume a beetle would be easier for you after robogames, but might also be better for new comers if they want something a little bigger than an ant but not quite up to the feathers.

looks good, then again i guess im a bit biased on that one Laughing you should go and staple em up all over powerpoles in the city as well.

hopefully i can make it up there for the event. guess that hinges on if anyone is driving from nsw or if i can find some $50 airfares again. worse case ill probably send demon up for someone to use. (is that thread for discussion of events as well or whut. theres a few for this one going Smile )
