Marayong Season 7, Round 2 - May 8th
10/04/10 sportsman event and beetle event.
So this was the proposed date for the next event. We decided at the last event that running two classes at the same event wa probably not feasible at this stage. The agreement was for 2 weeks before the next date.
However, given how close this date is maybe make this the beetle date and 2 weeks later the sportsman. I will be in Japan on April 10 either way.
Membership fees will be due for this round. For those wanting to pay by internet banking etc. Just pm a request and I will reply with the details. And before someone asks again its $100 _________________ Farnsworth - "I hate these nerds. Just because I'm stupider than them they think they're smarter than me."

That time frame sounds fine to me. Just wondering is everyone happy with the arena? I found it a good size, but the floor was very dusty which made traction difficult for a few bots, should get better in time.
Also is the wall high good or is everyone going to make vertical spinners now? _________________ ( •_•)

ok boys and girls whats the go with this next event.
should we put it off for another week or two maybe as theres been lil said about if people will have any form of a sportsman class robot going, im slowly trying to get an old robot going again for it but having issues and majority of other builders have been quiet. Chris is busy as these days, Nick is MIA for a few months, Angus as far as i know isnt messing with larger bots for a short while, Glen is unsure if hell be able to get one going in time etc etc.
That plus its easter long weekend and ill be in goulbourn catching up with people for alot of it and although ill be pretty full steam ahead in trying to get a sportsman done i cant make promises plus i prob wont have time to do a half descent beetle unless its a toy conversion or something crap.
Im my opinion this event is a lil soon and not looking optimistic for a good turnout so maybe either scrap it and focus on one after that or put it off for another week or so for those who are going away for easter and such to maybe finish something.
Whats peoples thoughts. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

To be honest pretty unlikely I'll be able to make it anyway, the stuff for upgrades i ordered havn't shown yet, plus GF is down till the 9th... No larger bots from me for a long time, simple no funds at all... _________________ ( •_•)

did we really agree to run the event 20 days after the last one i thought we were having less events this year.
probably could smash together a beetleweight in the two weeks. though. and a sportsman in 4. sounds like attendance will be next to nothing though.
but yeah very late april or early may would seem to be more appropriate. given there is a rather titanic gap of months after the next event if we have it on the 10th of april. then just work on the 2nd weekend there after. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

fark april 10
yeah sure cant work out why we thought that was a good idea in hindsight
ill definately need more time, ive had most of my time eaten up with changing a timing chain in my sister's fiancee's nissan navara for the last week or so.
I have some significant rearrangements / upgrades to Carbine planned and I'd rather put the event off so I can present with a properly functioning bot this time - and it'd be good to have someone to fight against!

So if we go off the other season plan by Nick, the next event would be 8th May.
@Nick, so after a bit of time to reflect what is your current thoughts on things? _________________ Farnsworth - "I hate these nerds. Just because I'm stupider than them they think they're smarter than me."

cool may 8th sounds good!
i reckon we could have another beetleweight event then. and perhaps have a bring and try sort of setup for the sportsmans. ive made a start on mine but not sure if itll be 100% complete weapon wise then.

@ Bort: I'm feeling much less pissed off about bot building, I spent all morning on upgrades to the beetle and its looking twice as tough as before. Its good to go right now, or with improvements by May 8th. The sportsman is progressing slowly but steadily, not sure it will be done in time for the next event, but possibly just as a demo of the lifter.
