I think it's every year. Laughing Even champion Ziggo exploded in battlebots into a ball of flame once. It's not easy having 1/3 of your robots weight revolving at 1000's rpm a few mm's away from electronics. Laughing

1000 rpm? you missed a 0 off Spinderalla's top speed.
A thought for my brother - instead of scrapping it why don't you sandwich everything between two layers of carbon fibre with the top of the motor sticking out the top and use a ruler bar spinner like everyone else? Then you' be protected from your self and maybe selfright easier.

Where did that comment come from?
I have Pushy at the moment while looking at a new version of Spinderella. I'm converting her into a translational spinner as per the origional plan.

They went well but I may not get the 138mAh ones next time for the spinner. I als made a charging harness so I could connect 2 to my charger at the same time.

New parts have arrived. I will change the layout so the ESC will be between the servos and the battery at one end. I will be using a nanotech 380mAh battery and a FrSkyV8R4 receiver so the 4.3g servos will be the thickest component. This doesn't leave much room for wiring so I have laid tracks on the carbon fiber base using sticky back copper tape so all the components will be wired down without stringing wire all through the robot. Will also remove the headers from the receiver again.
I will post a pic once I have the servos modded and mounted.

keep in mind carbon fiber is a decent conductor, so make sure your tracks are well insulated.

Didnt know that, surely the resin is an insulator? Makes sense that the fibre would conduct i guess

I get about 500 ohm across the base plate.
The copper tape its conductive through its backing which allows two or more pieces to be laid on top of reach other to form a corner or junction. because of this I had to first lay an insulating layer first of kapton tape and also insulate on top before sticking any pcbs on top. The whole process is time consuming but saves a lot if space in such a small robot.
