It would be a shame to butcher such a nice piece of machining. Another thing to keep in mind is that mass further away from the centre moves faster so adds more KE to the weapon so keep that in mind when thinking of how to lighten it.

It would be possible to use a disk that big but not with the components you are looking at using. I would leave the disk for now and just get everything else working then make another which you can swap out.

Edit: Stupid Glen beating my post

machining wise its pretty standard only took a couple of hours, and if you see in the pic my bearing cap has 4 bolt holes but only 3 bolts thats cause I used a blunt tap and broke off while tapping,so this disk i will experiment on for wight redution. And as for milling slots for the teeth I was thinking about it when i first made the disk but i want to see how the teeth hold up first,o and the shape of the teeth isnt finally yet either.
I was just trying to get it together to test everything.

Nice work, huge wheels though! Hope the drills can handle it. That scooter motor will be happy running 1:1 or even less to that blade, they have tonnes of torque. Smile

I agree with dyrodium, I think that those wheels may be a little too big for the drill motors to comfortably push

not a bad thing as long as its not excessive wheelspin - it will save your gearboxes from excess strain
