I was sitting down at my desk today & realised that my hard hat would be a great chassis for a robot. Then my wife suggested the name, a play on Bob the Builder.
I will use two XU1 drill drives, bunnings red wheels, with home built controllers & a SLA. Everything will be mounted off a chopping board which will be bolted up to the underside of the Hard Hat.

Nope, just a normal plastic hard hat you see all the contruction workers wear.
It is not intended to be a winner, more of special robot used for demo etc, good to PA.

Randal, you have an awesome idea there I've been planning a VCR bot for a while since we destroyed one with Annihilation. Maybe they will be able to battle one day if I get some time to make mine _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Maybe if the PC & MAC robots get built we could all have a battle as entertainment during breaks at the next robowars etc. Maybe a VHS v's Beta video recorders??
Anybody else got some left field ideas for robots??

If I was allowed, I would fit a set of compressor motors into my old 586 Laptop and a drill pack and enter that, but certain people won't allow it
I might even see if I can get a printer from a local computer guy and turn that into a robot _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

My BJ330 a3 printer just died & the service guy reckons that parts are no longer available, so I could also use that. Somewhere here I have an old pen plotter that maybe useful

maybe we could start a new class of bot. Comedy pushy bots, no active weapons, must be made out of a recycled household product & be less than 12kg. Be good for half time entertainment & using in shopping centres etc for promotion.
What does everybody think?

Possibly, maybe just make it no spinning weapons. I'd like to try a lifter or flipper built into the VCR.
Starting another class seems a bit of a pain in the neck, I'd just run with the other bots for the hell of it. Just making sure the opponent are still nice leaving it intact for later battles. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
