I almost forgot about council collections - another good reason to move north! Almost all the councils in Sydney have changed from a schedule to a "pick-up on demand", where you can ring the council a couple of times a year and they send a truck to your place. That means hardly any good junk left out on the street any more. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Its a massive shame our through away society - i want them to turn our local tip into a tip shop- there is always cool stiff being dumped in the pit then crushed by the bull dozer- yep curb side collections are great😎 Great score on the wheel chair💥 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

If anybody needs wheelchair stuff, theres always stuff through my work every now and then which i need to get rid of. Got a stack of wheelchair motors in the garage if need be, one pair with nice small solid rubber wheels on them _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

If you don't find any robotic uses for those gearboxes, perhaps they can be adapted to your mill. They are about the right speed to make a table feed or a head lifter - convenience features but very nice to have. Here is a video of a lighter-duty drill press table lifter to give you some ideas:

Like the mill head lifter idea- we got a homemade powerfeed that came with our mill- was thinking of actually using one for our front gate to⚙ _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Was this a chook suicide attempt or was it just a hot day? In any case- proof that chooks can swim🕹
Is this a cardboard mockup of a robot or is it my new bot that is madebof aluboard - yes that's right we found a load of this stuff at the tip a few months back it is a composite of 4mm hdpe sandwedged in between two layers of .5mm aluminium sheet- weird stuff but damn light weight and strong- is it strong enough for robots battles- definatly not spinner bsttles but sportman could be promising ? We shall see- its so fun to chop up on the band saw- this is two hours of building -where i got to last night before i was forced to head inside cause of tormenting next door noise fears
Its going to be a lifter but im planning to use the same setup as a servo in an ant with a couple of extra arms to get this thing flipping faster than just an arm strapped to a winch - should be faster to- gonna need limit switches to ⚙⚙⚙🍷 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Just throw some noodles and veggies in with the chook and you will hold the world record for the largest bowl of chicken soup
That Aluboard sounds interesting, could be useful for internal parts in featherweights as well _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Yep its tough stuff-i was trying yo convince jules how tough it was- i got a metre long strip of it and hit it over a vice as hard as i could and it didnt crack- only bent a bit - it also cut the hell out of both my hands doing this scientific test _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Well i miniaturized this bot when i didnt have to- after shoving it on the scales and said 14kg omg i thought this stuff was light weight- so chopped it down more and more- then to discover it was set to lbs- oh damn - it now weighs 8 kg😱Which means that the motors dont need to work as hard but there isnt much room left for esc and battery- noob mistakes 💩 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Great shot! Is raining in Sydney, which is what happens whenever there is an eclipse, meteor shower or anything else worth watching . Didn't you add a teleconvertor to double the focal length? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I picked up a 4/3 mount Bower 300mm mirror lens for $80, but it definitely needs a teleconverter to get good moon shots. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Thats the telephoto advantage of m4/3 cause the chip is smaller -that 300mm is more like 600mm on a full frame camera- wide end makes it harder though-😱 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Finally assembled these two familiar components -judgementals old blade with the my wedge that demon blew up in the ipswich art gallery in 2014✅
The plan is to drive it as a wedge then swing it around to clobber bots from behind- this should help with the bot surviving abit longer when i drive it into walls⚙ Also dont think ive seen a spinner wedge configuration like this - correct me if im wrong🤖 See my fancy belt tensioner Using some dump box section💥 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts
