Robot Streaming - Ustream

Hopefully at the next QRSC event we are going to try out the Ustream service. It provides free web streaming server and is what was used at the Edge event.

It is free for us to use but does have adds. Was wondering if anyone else would be keen to use this at events or if there is enough interest would we like to try and broadcast a fortnightly robot coverage based on what has happened around the country.

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone is interested.

You have to pay for it. Its rather expensive which is to be expected.

Another option is the Payper view.

I have no real bias either way the livestream one seems a bit cheaper. But still too expensive for us to buy a proper channel.

How hard do you reckon it would be to setup a constant stream on ustream?

We could stream our highlights vid, other youtube vids and a countdown to next event/live stream. We would need to somehow generate this video (I have no idea how to do this) and someone who has a PC running all the time who doesn't mind using quite a lot of upload bandwidth.

How much bandwidth, I might be able to run this from work on our failover ADSL service.

Do not use 2.4Ghz wireless to stream stuff. It drops out everytime you turn on all the radios.
