I am still waiting on a call from the Ideas Festival organizers to get a budget for an arena. I was thinking that this arena is modular so we can just use a quarter of it.

There'll only be enough wall sections for 2 quarters.

FYI:

Looking at shipping, it would be around $8000 to ship to Australia - maybe less.

The arena cost well over $200,000 to build. It's worth around $100,000. Reserve price is $11,000.

Lexan value is worth about $50,000, it's worth it just for that. Steel weight is worth about $6000, aluminum about $7000. Labor to build it would be about $40,000.

I'm selling so low because I'd like to see it still used, rather than sold for recycling weight.

I agree it is worth it, however it's still a large sum of money, and who would pay to store it between events? Confused

For the cost, it would be worth buying a small 1/4 acre block of land, building a big shed and setting the arena up inside permanently.

If we could get TV channels interested in an Australian Robot Wars, i'm sure they'd be able to purchase and store it...

Having worked for Channel 9 and other parts of the TV industry, I can say that they would be very unlikely to store something they didn't own, particularly something that big. They don't like cost or risk and are very mean spirited nowadays. it would be more likely that an indepentent production company would pick the idea up.
