There is a guy coming who is interested in building a robot.

One of the Big Gunners rang me last night and told me that his mate, who does animatronics for the WB studios on the Gold Coast, will come on Sunday and hopes to see some robot action. Any robots would be welcome to come.

48 Travis Rd Logan Village.

i so want to ask him like a million questions about how he got into it and how i could and such as its perfect for al the skills and that i love and its something i could seriously do well.

But we dont want an anamatronic T-rex running off across the neighborhood now do we? XD
I was wondering, do you know how these big gun boys set up rudders? I'm trying to make up a rudder mech for my boat, so far quite unsuccessfully... Confused

I ran a brass bar inside of a tube on Yamato. I purchased a standard arm from a hobby shop to go onto the top of the bar and soldered a rudder to the bottom of the bar. The tube must run above the water level.

you can just shove a rudder out the back too angus, and have it powered by a push and pull linkage from a servo inside the boat.

your still making that fan boat arent you? just make a rudder behind the fan, no parts in the water and with a air being some 680 times less dense than water i guess it would make everything more efficient...

They say that they will get there at 9. They probably will be there at 9.30. The boats will probabl go onto the water at 10 - 10.30. I will get there at 9.

I was hoping that you guys would come. The guy should be impressed by your bots.

There are all sorts of thing that get tried. I think I read somewhere about depth chargers, but I can't be sure.

I bought Alex's Yamato hull from http://www.ausbg.org/BSY/

There is no web site for the cannon supplier in Armidale.

The Sydney group is quite active, IIRC. They would be happy to have people come and watch or participate. Many builders have more than one boat and you can control an unarmed boat without having to join/be insured. http://www.ausbg.org/

might have to drag angus along with us Smile ,

how much does one of those kits sans the weapons set you back money wise? and one thing i cant seem to work out is, are all the cannons slaved together so they all move at the same time and what not or can you control them individually?
