RageQuit - Team Knightrous - QLD

With Schmackhed breaking drives like clock work and the up coming Ipswich public event less then a week away, I dragged all the robot parts in my collection and started cobbling together anything and everything that looked like it would work Razz (For a total of 10 minutes, MBX was going to make a return!)

I've decided to call this bot Rage Quit after having an epic rant the other night about my failings with feathers and how much more awesome antweights are (cause mine work! and cost me <$100).

How it's cobbled together so far.

Will be a wedge / thwack bot combo, possible chance of having a brushless powered saw on it too if I get time.

Yep, I dug out the reliable drives from T2M, cleaned them up, replaced the brass bushings in the motor (MBX destroyed them epically) with some ball bearings, then put them back together. T2M use to hoon with these motors on 18v on 140mm wheels, so 6S Lipol on 260mm wheels should be pretty rofl-worthy. Have a 4S Lipol coming just in case it's too insane to drive.

Some photos of what happens to the brass bearing in the winch motors after running on 40+v and 200G's

So I did this.

Tonight I moved onto building more of the chassis

Next up is to mount the internals in the tubing, then look at bracing it back towards the motors.

The motors are 12v 300watt winch motors with a 9:1 gear reduction.

I ragequit on trying to come up with a hub setup for the big wheels that wouldn't take hours to machine, so I just welded up the bearings and welded them to the shafts Razz Due to the design of the hubs, I can still disassemble the and replace the wheels.

Now the saw blades are mounted properly. Should have it wired up and driving tomorrow evening, then I can begin working on the weapons.

They were a winch product from Haigh Australia. I managed to get 4 of them off Marshal (Froggy_au) back in the day, he worked at Haigh and the pallet they were on was damaged, so they couldn't sell them due to the packaging being goneski.

They are the best motor I have seen yet in a combat robot, except for the stupid brass bush in the end cap which gets eaten away when over volted 4x nominal voltage Laughing
