Sweet I will. I am just waiting for components to arrive. I'm outsourcing the frame for the bot. its a bit expensive but I should never have to make another frame.

Okay frame is getting sent out tomorrow. I also started machining the Titanium bar for my 12lb combat robot I'm building.
The bar will weigh ~3.5lbs or 1.58kg when completed it is 14" x 2.25" x 0.75"
I am thinking 2:1 reduction with this motor.

I've made a few changes to my design before I sent out the stock for the frame. Now I am planning on using replaceable aluminum front forks so I don't have to ride on the screws (unless I get flipped)
I also designed a eggbeater bar that will be machined out of a solid chunk of titanium.
This I will make in house and will be the bane of my existence for awhile.

I really worry about those little front feet being ripped off b a horizontal spinner, even with 2 bolts. And that shaft better be fixed on that weapon else I can see the machine being pealed open like a can by any horizontal spinner.
The whisk design is a little odd too. Why don't the teeth cover the whole width of the weapon?

I agree - the forks would be lighter and easier to make if they screwed into the bottom edge of the frame. Redesigning the forks like that will also make the beater project further out; it seems rather recessed in the frame at the moment. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I suppose I could do it that way now that I look at it. The shaft is not attached to the egg beater. it is a 1/4" hardened steel pin. the edges will be ground and it will be held in place on both sides by screws.
Better?
As far as the beater design I have a bearing in each side so I need some space to put a pocket. plus the thing being mostly centered makes my ocd happy.

Very sexy! I wish we could make featherweights that way. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

This
my beetle
It's a constuction technique i've been pretty happy with, mine did get a bit warped from a big hit from a horz spinner, but some time in the oven sorted it out _________________ <Patrician|Away> what does your robot do, sam

I really like using that style of construction. it works really well. I've made two antweights and a beetle and they are pretty well indestructible. they just get marred up a bit when they encounter spinners.
