Looks Beautiful! have been kind-of following this thread what material is the frame made of and was it machined from a solid block?

The Jolijar frame looks milled for a solid piece of Ti.

That's correct it is made of 6AL-4V Titanium.

Full Ti frame wow! looks bullet proof, good luck to your opponents they'll probably need it.

my biggest opponent will be the scarlet clone called demise. my biggest concerns are in the following 3 areas.

1.)Getting everything to fit inside without a shoehorn

2.) Battery capacity (I am planning on running 2x 1s 100mah lipos in a series but I may have to run them in parallel) matches are 3 min so I might have to spin for only part of the match depending on how much current they actually pull.

is very tiny and might not be powerful enough. I am using a 2:1 reduction.

Overall I am very pleased with my design and I am looking forward to seeing it come together.

Hmm dunno if you'll have enough power. My little ant was constantly running out of juice on 130mah cells with the smallest 5g hextronic motor. had to jump up to the 160mah cells.

Looking great though how much was the blank of titanium worth?

I actually got the titanium for free. it was a 18" x 3" x 2.5" block. The guy who gave it to me did so on the condition that I make something cool with it.

As for building a wedge the judges favor weaponed bots over wedges also active weapons are more fun..

I might have to run them in parallel then. maybe I can find a bigger capacity battery. I don't have much space to work with.

Actually that is in the plan. Also I just found some 170mah cells that i should be able to shoehorn in. I'll have to back draft cut the screw mount hole in the back but I can live with that. Going to have literally zero space when this thing is together. I should have made it 2.375" square instead of 2.25" square. oh well...

Good thick wep mounts there, shouldn't bend like my beetle did.

My experience is that anything designed with CAD at this scale looks enormous on your screen when considering space for internal components and wiring, and ridiculously tiny in reality.

I started actually modelling nearly all of the internal components, but wiring is difficult to do in CAD in a way that's helpful

I just got the frame in hand. dang its tiny. oh well that was kinda the point. challenge accepted.

I finished most of the secondary operations on the frame last night. All I have left to do is drill 2 holes and tap them all. I ordered a special tap to do this and I should get it in the mail soon. I also finished the mold for the wheels. pictures later tonight.

Finished the wheel mold. I also finished most of the machining on the frame. I need to add two more holes and tap all of them. I also ordered the remaining parts that I need except for belts. I am still unsure which type I want to use.

Gearbox motor is not being used it is shown for scale.
