Just got a 3d printer, a da vinci by xyz printing. (I think i might of made a rookie move picking this printer)
took a while to get some traction but now its awesome to just print stuff instead of making it by hand every time wish I bought one sooner.

Hey guys we have a replicator 2 at work (i know i know) anyway I have it successfully printing pla with some decent prints (i will put pics up later) I need to print a dump truck tray from work that the drafty's drew, but when i scale it down to fit it ends up being really really thin (.1) or smaller and the printer cannot print it (just prints a skeleton) I have run it through nettfab, meshmixer, Kisslicer. any ideas? _________________ Creative Instigation - Build Something Awesome!
Anyone find their abs filiment is brittle in spots like a meter could be ok and bendy but then its really brittle and snaps when you bend it or its feeding? is that just abs or crap filiment? got a few rolls free with my printer and they seem to be ehhh seconds.

I have the same problem with my abs printing, i found having a small heater in the room to keep the ambient temp up seems to help. (still is brittle though)

Really depends on the brand and temperature - cold ABS can crack as easy as PLA sometimes. Also sometimes theres an airbubble that will cause that section of the filament to be super fragile. Really though, avoid feeding the filament around tight curves and you should rarely if ever run into that issue. _________________ ( •_•)
Got it printing like a boss now with ABS Polyurethane and PETG. Nylon first print cracked as it cooled over night but i didn't dry/bake the filament before printing i was lazy lol. Sticks good on glass with Elmers Xtreme glue stick coating with all materials iv used so far.
No longer have printing errors with losing steps since upping current a tad to steppers.
Done a few 30hour prints and came out good. Only trick i want to master now is the PVA support material sticks well to abs and nylon but not the Polyurathane. ill keep trying different temps etc.
